| Stones - Their Secret & Their Beauty |

When the artists Suzannah ( painter and jewellerist ), Rosemarie Richter (photographer) and Ingrid Heidrich-Siggelaki ( sculptor ) met each other, they discovered, that they all are fascinated by stones. Each one uses different kinds of methods and materials to work with this subject.
Suzannah: Since many years I am attracted by stones in the shape of semi-precious stones, wherefrom I design and produce jewellery. Their variety and speciality inspires my creativity, so that in the end every piece will be unique.
The fact, that I live in Kolimbithres, leaded to a deep and close relationship to the stones and rocks surrounding me. Therefore it got more and more important for me to include them into my painting-work. Today the stones became my main subject.
Ingrid Heidrich-Siggelaki: I work on marble with hammer and chisels, without the help of any machinery. It’s a long lasting process, often also difficult. But therefore I feel the joy to get really close to the stone, while working.
If we listen to each other, in a kind of dialogue, in the best case scenario, the sculpture will represent both: the unique of the marble and my creativity. It is a gift then!

Rosemarie Richter: In a decade of living on Naxos, making frequent visits to Paros, I have been captivated by the rich and beautiful natural forms offered in both places, to those who see beyond the obvious.
On my many walks, accompanied by my camera, I have heard and witnessed the voices and faces of the sea, the muted and at times shimmering facets of stones highlighted by the place where light and water meld.
There is a plethora of abstraction to be found in the colours and textures captured in a shutter click.
Look deeply into my "canvases" and find your own interpretation of human likeness, ancient wisdom, unspoken beauty, and the illusions of timeless paradox.
